Fiesta de Reyes

After excitedly telling Chelsea about how wonderful it is that we only live a 90-minute drive from San Diego and can visit Dan's family there any time we want, we ended up sitting in traffic on the 5 for over three and a half hours. It has never taken us that long to get there. After introducing Chelsea to G-Ma and Bill we all hopped in the car and took off to Old Town for lunch at Fiesta de Reyes.

Being a Saturday, the place was packed! We walked the perimeter and visited a few shops and I felt like I was on the set of a western the entire time. Re-enactors in period costumes were wandering everywhere, just going on about their day as though we had stepped into the 1850's, which was a little bizarre and kitschy, but I get it.

But of course the best part were the margaritas and enchiladas, which were totally worth the weeks of excitement leading up to our return there.
